As a member of the Berggruen Institute’s 21st Century Council and its Globalization and Geopolitics Program, Ernesto Zedillo participates in its “Understanding China” conferences which has included meetings with President Xi Jinping and other leaders of that country. The 21st Century Council is a group of 40 former heads of state or government, global thinkers, and tech entrepreneurs founded to address the challenges faced by both advanced and emerging countries in an interdependent, but fragmenting world.
